“Resurrection Is Now”

Dom Aelred Watkin (1918-1997) was a wise and respected Head Master of Downside from 1962 to 1975. He wrote a book called Resurrection Is Now about death and resurrection, about the reality of death and the reality of the salvation of God. It talks about how everything dies and is renewed: the natural world; and love; and human life; and the universe itself. It talks of what happens after death: judgement, heaven and hell, the resurrection of the body, and how through the sacraments we can prepare for our own death and resurrection.

Ever since Resurrection Is Now was put into the Universalis apps as a Daily Book, people have been asking how they can get a printed copy, for themselves or their friends.

Now at last they can.

You can read all about the book here, and order it online. It costs £6.99 in the UK and $8.99 in the USA, with similar prices elsewhere. Quite a few people have written in to say they are buying several copies, for themselves and their friends.

USA only: a new edition of the Divine Office

The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops have announced a new edition of the Liturgy of the Hours which will come into use on Ash Wednesday 2027. They have told us we will be able to provide the new edition through Universalis. As soon as they have worked out the technical and commercial details, and have told us, we will tell you.

All this applies to the USA only. In the rest of the world, nothing is changing.
